Accommodation
The 47 exquisitely designed rooms and suites epitomise comfort and luxury. My suite was a sanctuary of relaxation, featuring plush furnishings, a marble-clad bathroom with a freestanding tub, and thoughtful details such as fresh flowers and locally crafted treats. The views over the manicured gardens were mesmerising, offering a serene start to each day.
Dining
Grantley Hall’s culinary offerings are nothing short of spectacular.
- Shaun Rankin at Grantley Hall: Dining at this MICHELIN-starred restaurant was the highlight of my stay. The seasonal tasting menu was a masterclass in fine dining, showcasing Yorkshire’s finest ingredients with precision and creativity. Every course, from the delicate amuse-bouche to the decadent dessert, was a sensory delight.
- Fletchers Restaurant: For a more relaxed atmosphere, Fletchers delivered beautifully presented dishes with a comforting yet refined flair. The venison dish I enjoyed was tender, flavourful, and perfectly paired with a local red wine.
- EightyEight: This Pan-Asian restaurant offered an exciting fusion of flavours in a stunning contemporary setting. The sushi rolls and bao buns were standouts.
The bars, including the late-night champagne and cocktail venue, provided the perfect spaces to unwind, whether with a classic martini or a creative signature cocktail.
Spa & Wellness
The Three Graces Spa was a haven of tranquility. We indulged in several spa treatments including massages, facials and all over body treatments that left us utterly rejuvenated. The hydrotherapy pool and thermal facilities were equally inviting, offering the perfect way to relax after a day exploring the Dales.
For fitness enthusiasts, the Luxury ELITE Gym exceeded all expectations. The cryotherapy chamber, underwater treadmill, and strength training facilities are among the most advanced I’ve encountered in a hotel setting.
Service & Atmosphere
What truly sets it apart is its exceptional service. The staff anticipated every need with warmth and professionalism, from personalised check-in to thoughtful turndown touches. The estate’s rich heritage is reflected in its architecture and design, creating an atmosphere that is both grand and inviting.

We tried the tasting menu at Shaun Rankin, The Cheese Soufflé at Fletchers, and the amazing pan-asian flavours of 88. As well as the treatments at the spa, Prana Vitality Massage, The O2 Relax Facial, and Dream Time Journey, followed by an evening cocktail at Valeria’s. We had a suite with garden views for the most picturesque stay, and spent our time, when not enjoying the hotel’s hospitality, exploring the Yorkshire Dales nearby.
