Set on Navarino Bay in Messenia, Ormos Beach Club is the relaxed beachfront dining spot at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino. Sun loungers and private cabanas line the waterfront, while the all-day menu covers Mediterranean-inspired dishes, pizza, pasta, seafood and wood-fired meats.

It is particularly suited to long lunches by the water, with cocktails and lighter dishes available for those spending the afternoon between the beach and their lounger.

Beachside Dining on Navarino Bay

Ormos sits directly beside Navarino Bay, with sun loungers and private cabanas providing places to settle close to the water. Lunch can be enjoyed as part of a day at the beach, with food and drinks served in a setting that remains casual despite its polished resort surroundings.

Ormos Beach Club experience

Private cabanas offer greater seclusion for a longer afternoon, while families are catered for with creative activities for younger guests and a dedicated Kids Menu.

Lunch by the Water

The menu is broad without losing its beach-club character, moving through starters and salads to pizza, pasta, burgers and dishes from the wood-fired grill.

Among the smaller plates, the Mezze Platter combines hummus, smoked baba ghanoush, walnut muhammara and za’atar pita, while Tuna Tartare comes with avocado, wasabi mayo and soy dressing. The Nikkei Ceviche pairs amberjack with Nikkei leche de tigre, avocado cream and mushrooms. There is also an Ormos Greek Salad with heirloom tomato, barrel-aged feta and oregano vinaigrette.

Pizza brings a distinctly Italian strand to the menu. Marinara is topped with San Marzano Solania tomato, anchovies, Sulmona garlic and marjoram, while Bufala pairs the same tomatoes with mozzarella di bufala and basil. The richer 7 Formaggi combines Gorgonzola, Provolone, Scamorza, Taleggio, fior di latte, Parmigiano Reggiano and Pecorino DOP with truffle honey. Messenian extra virgin olive oil runs through the pizza selection.

Pasta and rice options include Mezze Maniche Pomodoro & Burrata, Risotto al Pesto with pistachio, basil and mozzarella di bufala, and Seafood Linguine Aglio e Olio with prawns, calamari, mussels and lobster. For something more casual, the Double Smashed Burger comes with prime beef, cheddar, caramelised onions and MO sauce, while Tahir Shawarma combines spiced chicken, garlic aioli, pickled onions and sumac pita.

The wood-fired grill is where the menu becomes more substantial. Messenian Sea Bass Fish Fillet is served simply with steamed vegetables, lemon and sea salt, alongside US Prime Beef Rib-Eye with grilled mushrooms and baby potatoes. Greek Lobster comes with grilled vegetables, herbal sauce and lemon. Ormos states that all of its fish and seafood are sustainably sourced.

Something Sweet

Desserts are concise but varied. Strawberry Granita is paired with white chocolate, lime meringue and berry sauce, while Citrus Pavlova Nikkei combines yuzu curd, lemon whipped cream and citrus pearls. There is also a Freddo Cappuccino dessert with Frappuccino ice cream and coffee financier, alongside a seasonal Fruit Platter.

Coffee comes from Spinos, a local Kalamata roastery founded in 1926 and now run by the third generation of the family. The tea selection is supplied by Greek brand Tearoute, with choices including Peppermint Herbal Tea, Gaia Green Tea and Orient Express Tea.

Cocktails and Afternoon Drinks

Cocktails suit the easy pace of the beach club, with signature serves alongside Champagne, Greek and international wines, spirits, beers, juices and alcohol-free options. Drinks can accompany lunch or be ordered later in the afternoon while relaxing beside the water.

Within Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino’s wider dining collection, Ormos occupies the casual daytime spot, centred on beachside food and drinks rather than a formal restaurant experience.

An Easygoing Side of Costa Navarino

Ormos Beach Club works best as somewhere to give lunch a little more time. The menu has enough range for a light plate or a substantial meal, with seafood, pizza and dishes from the wood-fired grill providing plenty of choice. Add the Navarino Bay setting, private cabanas and cocktails by the water, and it makes a natural stop during a day at Mandarin Oriental, Costa Navarino.
