Set in 125 acres of beautiful Surrey parkland, Pennyhill Park Spa is the kind of place that makes you instantly exhale. It’s no surprise that England’s rugby team trains here — this place is all about high performance and serious pampering. We spent a day soaking it all in, and honestly, it’s every bit as special as people say.

The Perfect Spot for a Peaceful Escape

Tucked just off the A30 and only about a mile from Bagshot Station, Pennyhill Park is incredibly easy to get to — but once you arrive, it feels like you’ve stepped into another world. Driving up through the tree-lined paths, you’re greeted by sweeping views and a sense of calm. The warm welcome from the valet team sets the tone for what’s to come: seamless, relaxed luxury.

Where Traditional Charm Meets Modern Comfort

One of the things we loved most is how Pennyhill balances old-school country house charm with modern, five-star luxury. The original manor house is full of character — think glittering chandeliers, polished brass details, and cosy touches. Every detail is fun, and very on-brand for a countryside escape.

The spa and most of the rooms are in more modern wings, but everything still feels beautifully connected. Whether you’re stretched out by the outdoor pool in summer or warming up in the thermal suite during winter, it just works.

Service That’s Spot-On

From the moment you walk in, the staff are warm, friendly, and genuinely helpful — nothing ever feels too much trouble. The receptionist made check-in a breeze, and the spa team was brilliant at showing us around without fuss.

The facilities are honestly some of the best we’ve seen. There’s an outdoor hydrotherapy pool surrounded by comfy loungers, and inside, a stunning 80-foot Ballroom pool that’s pure bliss.

The thermal suite is a standout. With herbal saunas, steam rooms, salt rooms, ice showers, and more, it’s like a full sensory journey. The mud treatment room was a personal favourite — fun, a little bit messy, but so worth it for how soft and refreshed your skin will feel afterward.

Spa Days That Hit the Right Note

Afternoon Tea & Spa

Exclusive collection 2022 23

If you want to mix your pampering session with pastries, the Afternoon Tea & Spa package is a dream. Arrive at 2pm, unwind in the spa, then tuck into a classic afternoon tea — scones, sandwiches, and beautifully crafted cakes. After that, there’s a 60-minute prescriptive facial tailored to your skin’s needs. You’ll leave glowing, full, and chilled out by the 8pm finish.

Muddy Spa Break: A Spa Day for Sharing

Whether it’s with your partner, best friend, or someone who won’t mind seeing you covered in mud, the Muddy Spa Break is made for quality time.

Unwind together in your own private steam chamber with a 60-minute self-guided mud experience— scrub, mask, and moisturise your way to glowing skin.

Afterwards, enjoy a delicious dinner at Hillfield, an overnight stay in your choice of room or suite, and full access to the spa’s pools, thermal rooms, and relaxation areas.

Radiance Spa Day: For That Healthy Glow

If you’re looking for a little skin refresh, the Radiance Spa Day does exactly what it says on the tin. After enjoying the thermal suite and pools, you’ll get a facial designed to bring your skin back to life.

You can enjoy lunch at Themis or outside at the Pool View Bar when the sun’s out, and you’ll leave with a lovely Comfort Zone gift to keep the glow going at home. For a bit of extra privacy, there’s even a cabana with its own copper spa bath.

Diamond Spa Day: For the Ultimate Treat

If you’re going all out, the Diamond Spa Day is the one. Along with full access to the spa, you’ll get the premium Natura Bissé Diamond Life Infusion Facial — famous for its anti-ageing magic — and a luxurious upper body massage.

And because they know how to spoil you, there’s a deluxe Diamond Kit to take home too.

Rooms with Personality

Even though this visit was spa-focused, we had a peek at the rooms — and they’re all a little different, in the best way. Some lean into classic countryside luxury, others are sleek and modern, but all are done beautifully.

The Granary: Your Own Private Escape

If you’re after something really special, The Granary is worth it. It’s a two-storey private suite with its own garden, and it’s often booked for honeymoons or big celebrations.

Upstairs, there’s a show-stopping copper bathtub under exposed beams, and downstairs you’ll find a spacious lounge, dining area, and luxe bathroom. Extended spa access adds an extra touch of indulgence.

Food That Matches the Setting

Food at Pennyhill is top-tier. The Hillfield restaurant is where breakfast dreams come true — local produce, lots of choice, all beautifully done. Themis serves healthy, tasty meals that keep you feeling light and energised during your spa day.

If you’re looking for something memorable, book dinner at the Michelin-starred Latymer. Chef Steve Smith’s Discovery tasting menu is a real showstopper — creative, elegant, and full of flavour.

Final Thoughts: A Place You’ll Want to Return To

Whether you’re after deep relaxation, a romantic retreat, or a bit of pampering with a friend, Pennyhill Park Spa delivers. It’s luxurious without being stuffy, indulgent without being over the top, and every detail feels carefully considered. If you’re looking for a proper escape that leaves you feeling refreshed, this place is well worth the visit.
